ABOUT ME
Welcome to Mortuary Momma! So glad to have you here. My name is McKenzie and I'm from eastern Kentucky. Ever since I was little I can remember wanting to become a mortician; although I didn't fully understand what that meant. Later in life, I chose nursing and dropped out because there was no passion for it. I ended up getting an MBA in Healthcare Administration to which I've never used. Again, no passion.

Why didn't I attend mortuary school to begin with? I didn't have the means to move away to attend college, nor did I know online school was an option for such a career.

2020 came, along with a pandemic. I realized once more that I was being pulled to the mortuary field. I did a LOT of research and found PIMS (Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science). It was the perfect match. I decided to apply in June with support from my husband and family. A month later I got my acceptance letter!

I started classes in October 2020 and to say my passion erupted would be an understatement. I was absorbed in the learning and still am.

This career path isn't just a 9-5 weekday job. It's a 24/7 lifestyle.

With that being said, let's talk.
